Maybe you already know exactly who you want standing up there with you.
Your sister. Your best mate. Your dad. The friend who introduced you. Someone who knows the stories because they were actually there for them.
So why shouldn’t they have the microphone?
They don’t need to become a celebrant. And they certainly don’t need to figure it all out on their own.
That’s where I come in.
SO… HOW DOES THIS ACTUALLY WORK?
You choose the person — or people — you’d love to have involved. Then I work with them behind the scenes to help them get ready.
That might mean helping them work out what to say, shaping the ceremony with them, talking through how it all flows, or simply giving them enough guidance that they feel confident standing up there on the day.
They can take a small part of the ceremony, or they can take the microphone for almost all of it. We’ll work out what makes sense for you, for them and for the kind of ceremony you’re planning.
They get to be part of something pretty special. And you get to have someone standing beside you who actually knows you.
Which, funnily enough, is exactly how I ended up becoming a celebrant in the first place.
AND WHAT ABOUT YOUR PERSON?
They don’t need to know how to write a wedding ceremony. They don’t need to be a natural public speaker. And they definitely don’t need to figure all of this out by themselves.
That’s the whole point of having me in their corner.
I’ll work with them throughout the process — helping them shape what they want to say, giving them a framework to work from, reviewing what they create and helping them become comfortable and confident with delivering it on the day.
BUT WHO ACTUALLY MARRIES US?
That part is still me.
I remain your Authorised Marriage Celebrant and take care of all the legal requirements before, during and after your wedding.
Your person can take the microphone for as much of the rest as we decide together, while I step in for the parts that legally need to come from me.
Then I happily step back out of the way again.
While your person is getting ready to take the microphone, I’ll still be taking care of everything you’d expect from me as your Authorised Marriage Celebrant.
That includes all your legal paperwork before and after the wedding, your official marriage certificate from BDM, help with your vows, keepsake vow booklets, my professional BOSE S1 Pro PA and microphone, unlimited email support — and me there early on the day making sure everything is ready to go.
In other words, you’re not getting less of me. We’re just making room for someone else too.
One little thing I do ask: whoever you choose needs to genuinely want to do this too. They don’t need experience, and they certainly don’t need to have it all figured out — but they do need to be willing to put in the time and be part of the process.
I can help with the nerves. I can help with the words. I can help with the delivery. They just need to bring the commitment.
AND YES, I’VE THOUGHT ABOUT THE LITTLE THINGS TOO.
WE START TOGETHER
A dedicated planning session so they understand their role, how the ceremony works and where to begin.
THE CHECK-INS
Two Zoom sessions along the way, timed around their progress rather than the calendar.
SUPPORT IN BETWEEN
Unlimited email support, plus my ceremony framework and feedback as everything comes together.
THE REHEARSAL
A run-through before the wedding so we can practise the flow, the handovers and make sure everyone knows exactly what happens next.
GETTING MARRIED SOMEWHERE ELSE?
My Share The Microphone fee includes travel up to 80 km by road from Tewantin.
Getting married further afield? Absolutely. I’m very happy to travel throughout Queensland, interstate — or overseas.
If your wedding is outside my included travel area, I’ll work out any additional travel and accommodation costs with you upfront.
